To exist and to live is a gift, given to us to enjoy and to create common good. But some obviously are not aware of this goal and have misunderstood ethics and the faith they live. No one is entitled to torture or destroy those weaker and unprotected ones.

An example of the above mentioned behavior is the sad events that are organized annually, at the end of June, in Spain. This ritualistic vandalism in the cradle of the civilization where a band of ‘primitives’ terrorize frightened horses is a ‘traditional’ send-off Spaniards. This brutal play is recognizable by abuse of horses for minor profit through this amoral ‘fun’. Such ‘traditional’ barbarism is the zenith of human cruelty and reaches the highest level of cruelty when condemned by all world religions and governments. Human kind cannot understand how in our time anyone could drive horses into the arena of fear to their death and still remain unpunished for these acts.

Spain is an EU member and therefore responsible to immediately punish all interlocutors and actors in this ‘game’ by identifying them on basis of the photographic and video records made during this brutal act. Among those that have committed this criminal act are also women, behaving completely in inhuman and non-civilized way. Therefore we would like to invite and appeal to all Spanish activists to work towards ending brutalities of this kind. We would like to extend this invitation to all activists throughout EU to join us in boycotting of all tourist trips to Spain for as long as practices such as this remain uncontrolled. We would specially like to encourage you to cancel arranged tourist visits to Spain. Only in this way, with urgent action, we can assist Spanish activists in their fight for animal rights.

EU legislation, of which Spain is a party to, forbids torture of animals, a fact that should speed up the reaction by the appropriate bodies. The way in which horse’s manes and tails are cut is extremely cruel, while the goal of such an act is probably unknown even to the organizers of this ‘party from hell’ prepared for the offspring of the founders of the best-known Spanish horse riding schools which renown throughout the world for their noble treatment of horses. NOA Banja Luka would like to invite you for a joint EU action aimed at assisting Spanish animal welfare activists that have presented to the world the goings on in their country. The EU public must react to such events in order to protect the common good and the goals of EU. We would like to urge all ambassadors and diplomatic representatives [in Spain] to send a protest note and by doing so, warn about these happenings that are atypical for EU values. We are also inviting the Spanish government to urgently stop these forms of ‘amusement’ organized for its population, as well as the cruelest of killings of bulls in bullfighting arenas. Today’s generation of Spaniards does not want these brutal manifestations and feels morally obliged to stop with this outdated form of behavior. If Englishmen stopped foxhunts I see no reason why Spanish would not be able to say goodbye to horse brutality and bullfights.

Across centuries, horses have been the embodiment of nobility. Since the beginning of time, all the great rulers and kings as well as their offspring have felt a special obligation towards the protection of this species.

When the Creator was creating the world, the legend says He told the wind – make a fast, powerful and intelligent creature, just like you are, one that would be able to carry a man on his back. Than, the Creator has created the horse.
